A University of North Alabama team competed recently in the Student Bowl at the Southeast American College of Sports Medicine conference. The team from UNA’s Department of Kinesiology placed 5th in the Southeast chapter, which includes 10 states and averages approximately 1,200 attendees at the annual meeting.

The University of North Alabama has recently completed its reaffirmation process with its accrediting agency – the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges – with no findings and no recommendations for follow up. This is the best possible outcome for any SACSCOC institution. The reaffirmation process takes place every 10 years and entails a campus-wide effort that involves academic and non-academic areas as well as members of the community.
Congressman Robert Aderholt (AL-04) has spearheaded an effort to secure special funding for a dedicated engineering building for the University of North Alabama. The $13 million appropriation was included as part as part of a larger federal spending bill which was recently signed by President Biden.
Three of the robotics teams from Kilby Laboratory School have qualified for the VEX Robotics World Competition, which is slated for April 29 through May 4 in Dallas. Only 13 VEX World slots were available for Alabama, and the Kilby teams earned their berths after winning at the regional competition that took place recently in Auburn.
FLORENCE, AL – The University of North Alabama Division of Advancement has recently launched Healthcare Heroes Plaza; the site is directly in front of the Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions, which is housed in Harrison Hall, and is designed to honor UNA alumni and friends who serve in a healthcare or healthcare-related field.
